It’s amazing how versatile a palette knife is. 90% of this painting was done with only the knife.

Using DecoFoil™ transfer sheets and adhesive glue I was able to add foil highlights.

Thermoweb Art

I am enjoying working with Therm-o-web’s DecoFoil™ as a wonderful enhancement to my artwork.

I am sharing some examples of what I have done with DecoFoil™ Transfer Sheets since my first experience creating my ballerina sculpture. The following pieces were created for Therm-o-web to display at a recent Trade Show. Therm-o-web provided me with the product to use in my work.

This 4-panel creation was painted with acrylics on canvas. I was at the point that I needed to add the finishing enhancements of shading and contrast and was about to complete the painting when I decided to use the DecoFoil™ Transfer Sheets instead. I’m ESPECIALLY thrilled with the shadow effect in front of the vase. It definitely makes more of a statement than if I had just used acrylic paint. What do you think?

“All Around Me” Mixed Media foil and acrylic on canvas board.

This impressionist Therm-o-web art is one of my favourite. I used DecoArt® acrylics on a canvas board.

I wish this painting showed better. It looks like enamel and it took me many hours to complete. I had to work on it, dividing it into many sections, allowing each section to become tacky so I could apply the foil.

Succulents and Ferns add a lush topper

I enjoyed creating the topper. By adding ferns, succulents, peacock feathers, and purple flowers it really makes a statement. I also decided to add the Garden Party signage using a Deflecto clip ( although the dessert stand really didn’t need it). I figured; what the heck?!  🙂

Each tier was covered in coordinating washi tape and the top tier has resin flowers attached – they are SO pretty.

I wrapped 2 ferns around the inside of the second tier and finished it off with this GREAT picket fence I found hiding in my stash!

Thanks for visiting and remember to leave a comment to win one of these GREAT stands!

Powertex and Foil Ballerina Published

My Powertex & Foil Ballerina was published in FaveCraft’s “Best Blogger Craft Ideas 2016: DIY Home Decor, Paper Craft Ideas, Sewing Projects, and Unique DIY Crafts” free eBook

FaveCrafts Best Blogger Craft Ideas 2016

Download the book!  It’s FREE!

Here is an excerpt from the Introduction:

Every January the FaveCrafts team travels to the Craft & Hobby Association Trade Show to not only check out what’s new in the crafting world, but to host one of our favorite events of the year. Our blogger networking party is an event where we invite the best and brightest bloggers to meet some of our favorite companies. These companies generously gift the bloggers product to bring brand new projects to life, entering then into our Best Blogger Craft of 2016 contest. All of these projects are collected into this eBook.

The projects in ‘the book’ were created exclusively for this eBook and our readers. In this book you will find ways to spice up your home, handmade cards to give, sewing projects, and more.

I attended that wonderful networking party and I’ve been waiting months for the book to come out. My Ballerina is on page 40. I wouldn’t have won without the generous support of Therm o Web and their delicious DecoFoil®Powertex and Foil Ballerina

You will enjoy looking at all the other wonderful designers’ work, too.
