Wispy Butterfly Mobile

Today I am sharing with you this beautiful wispy butterfly mobile that I created using faux-quilting stamps, butterflies, and washi tape. mobile background tile

What did I use? Clearsnap inks, Unity Stamps faux quilting stamps, blue jewelry string, crimp tubes, beads, washi tape, wood die cuts, 20 gauge jewelry wire, Beacon Adhesives Quick Grip glue, mirror pendant, and DecoArt Cool White acrylic paint

Tools: EkSuccess butterfly punch, Westcott scissors, Beadalon jewelry pliers, Fiskars paper trimmer, We Are Memory Keepers Crop-a-dile

I proceeded to punch out my butterflies and glue them to the blue stringing wire. Some butterflies were heat embossed but most were not. To secure the wire loops I used a crimp tube to keep everything in place.

I fashioned the armature from wire pieces creating a tripod-type attachment.

$1 wood die cuts from DollarStore

The central flower was decorated in washi tape and sealed with DecoArt matte sealer.  All flowers were given a coat of this great one-coat sealer. I like using it because it protects your pieces with very low shine.

See how gorgeous the inks look?

Once the flowers are dry, punch a hole with a Cropodile and attach to wire ring with Beacon Quick Grip glue ( This stuff is AMAZING!)

The wire ring was taken from a $1 dream-catcher kit.

Lots of fun, right? And what a great way to re-purpose a dream catcher!
